Okay! I'm back! Well, sort of. I'm going on vacation all next week so I really won't be back until Oct 13 but I've got the website moved and will be implementing some new features over the next few weeks to automate stuff so that I don't have to spend as much time answering email, etc., etc.

The short of it is this: the business world has surprised me with the speed of its take-over of my life. My free time has collapsed and i just can't afford the 10-12 hours a week that I have routinely put in on the site for the past four years. All is not lost however. Technology approaches! ;-) I have installed a fabulous discussion board call Discus on the new site and I think it will allow us to have Brash Reflection -like discussion on a wide variety of topics without me having to put the files together by hand! We'll see how this works out. As an experiment, I have taken a few email comments that I received on the premiere of DS9 and added them to the DS9 board. You can find it at: www.nitcentral.com/discus. Be aware however, that *none* of the other boards are open at the moment. They will be in the future after I tweek them a bit. Hopefully, everyone will stay on topic and leave the profanity at home. If not, I can always turn them into private board and sign up nitpickers with passwords. (That would be a pain, however!) Anyway, drop by and see what you think. I'll be sending out a notification of the same to everyone for whom I have an email address. That note will also explain what's going on with the October issue of the newsletter.

Finally, I threw together what will probably that last Ask the Chief column that I do in the present format. I am considering moving it to Discus as well to save me the time it takes to create the column by hand!

I'll be back around on October 13th!

Oh, wait. One last thing before I go. I uploaded the October 1998 issue of the Nitpicker's Guild newsletter today. Don't get your hopes up. It ain't what you think! (If I could just get that application approved for a 36-hour day . . .)
