THIS WEEK AT NITCENTRAL

Sunday, October 18, 1998

Slowly, but surely, things are coming together around here!

In case you missed the announcement last week, fellow nitpicker Amos Painter is moderating a topic on the discussion board (www.nitcentral.com/discus) for Earth: Final Conflict. In fact, Amos already has all the episode titles loaded for the first season and four for the second season so he's off to a flying start. If you're a fan of Roddenberry's posthumus creation, drop by and leave a few comments (And while you're at it, drop Amos a line to say welcome. You can reach him at apainter@nitcentral.com. See, mugsy, that's the way it works. You moderate a board. You get a free email forwarding account. Hint, hint. ;-)

In addition, fellow nitpicker Brian Webber has agree to moderate a topic on the discussion board for Babylon 5! I set that board up yesterday so give Brian a few days to get settled but it shouldn't take too long to get the space allocated for B5 if you're a fan of the show! (By the way, if you'd like to send Brian a "Glad to have you aboard", you can reach him at: bwebber@nitcentral.com.

As for my efforts, there is now a discussion topic called "The Kitchen Sink" as well on the discussion. It replaces the Ask the Chief column. If you have a topic you like to see discussed at "The Kitchen Sink" send me an email at: chief@nicentral.com with a Subject of "The Kitchen Sink" and I shall surely considered it! ;-)

In addition, I've finished creating pages for all the Classic Trek episode and begun work on the NextGen episodes. I also created a page for the "just-released-to-video" X-File movie and season six of the X-Files. Season Six premieres November 6! (By the way, you all *do* realizes that by clicking on the "Last Day" link on the discussion board you can see all the messages that have been posted in the last day, right? ;-)

Oh and I received some fabulous news last week. My first editor--the person who recognized the wonder of the Nitpicker's Guides in the first place--Jeanne Cavelos has a new book coming out. Yea!

It's called "The Science of the X-Files" and you can read all about it on Jeanne's website at: http://www.sff.net/people/jcavelos/xf.htp

Be sure to drop by and take a look!

Man, I am *way* behind the times! I'll be adding a topic or two to "The Kitchen Sink" this Saturday.

In other discussion board news, there are MORE topics out there now and I haven't kept you all informed. Sorry about that!

For those of you who are looking for something different, fellow nitpicker Andrew Corcoran (acorcoran@nitcentral.com) has agreed to host a Red Dwarf portion on the board. Be sure to drop by and say hello!

Jon Raines (jraines@nitcentral.com) has agreed to look after the Next Gen portion of the board.

Mathew Patternson (mpatterson@nitcentral.com)   has begun taking nits on Seven Days, the new time travel show from UPN.

Murray Leeder (mleeder@nitcentral.com) will be heading up the comment section for The Trek Animated Series.

And finally, Michael Cheyne (mcheyne@nitcentral.com) will be hosting a portion of the Movies topic.

There's lots more to do if you interested in being a moderator. I still need someone to over see Classic Trek, DS9, Voyager and the X-Files.

And . . . if there's a television series that you'd like to see on the boards that isn't there yet, I am more than happy to add it. (Provided it meets my standards for decorum. Baywatch doesn't! ;-) All you have to do is volunteer to moderate! (heh, heh, heh.)

Didn't have as much to upload to The Kitchen Sink as I thought! Just one new topic on Star Trek: The Experience (in Vegas). That's just fine because I have other things to do. Be sure to drop by the discussion board. There's new stuff everyday around here.
