THIS WEEK AT NITCENTRAL

Tuesday, November 3, 1998

As usual, things are hopping around here! Had another great but very busy weekend. I finished up a video project with a friend that had consumed all my free time for two weeks but it turned out okay. I mean it was "cheap-thrill" video. We threw in as many effects as we could to keep people from noticing how fuzzy the pictures were! (Hey, it was a corporate video thing and the camera man had never even shot footage for use in a corporate video before!)

More news on the discussion board (www.nitcentral.com/discus). Since last we talked, I have two more moderators to introduce to you:

Richie Vest (rvest@nitcentral.com) will be heading up the discussions for Voyager and Lee Jamilkowski (ljamilkowski@nitcentral.com) has agreed to look after the Sliders portion of the board. Thanks for volunteering gentlemen!

That makes eleven moderators! The other distinguish individuals of this elite corps are:

Joel Boutiere (jboutiere@nitcentral.com),   X-Files

Michael Cheyne (mcheyne@nitcentral.com) Mike's Movies.

Andrew Corcoran (acorcoran@nitcentral.com), Red Dwarf

Chris George (cgeorge@nitcentral.com), DS9!

Murray Leeder (mleeder@nitcentral.com), The Trek Animated Series.

Amos Painter (apainter@nitcentral.com), Earth: Final Conflict.

Mathew Patternson (mpatterson@nitcentral.com), Seven Days

Jon Raines (jraines@nitcentral.com) Classic Trek, Next Gen

Brian Webber (bwebber@nitcentral.com), Babylon 5 and Brian's Movies

Remember . . . if there's a television series that you'd like to see on the boards that isn't there yet, I am more than happy to add it. (Provided it meets my standards for decorum. Baywatch doesn't! ;-) All you have to do is volunteer to moderate! (And you even get your own free email forwarding address at nitcentral.com. Such a deal I'm making you!.)

Oh and I received some fabulous news recently. My first editor--the person who recognized the wonder of the Nitpicker's Guides in the first place--Jeanne Cavelos has a new book coming out. Yea!

It's called "The Science of the X-Files" and you can read all about it on Jeanne's website at: http://www.sff.net/people/jcavelos/xf.htp

Also I just finished uploading some new topics for The Kitchen Sink portion of the discussion board.

AND . . . I have a little announement to pass along. I you happen to live in the St. Louis area and have some few time in a couple of weeks, you might be interested to know that I'll be at an all day X-phile's event on November 21st at St. Louis Community College Forest Park (5600 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis MO 63110) from 9 AM to 4 PM. If you'd like further information, you can contact Donna Bakke at bakke@i1.net or dbakke@fpmail.stlcc.cc.mo.us !
